GN Netcom has implemented a mobile solution for optimising the testing process of potentially defective headsets.
Earlier, GN Netcom received thousands of potentially defective Bluetooth headsets from resellers around the world. Statistically show that up to 40% of the returned headsets were not defective just used incorrectly.
To reduce the number of returned headsets that are not defective, GN Netcom has released an on-site testing tool, which will help dealers and distributors to perform simple tests via a PDA. Quality Testing The testing tool is very user-friendly so that dealers and distributors around the world who may not be familiar with headsets or PDAs can use it with ease.
The testing tool guides the user through a series of tests, e.g verifying that the buttons, microphone and speakers are functioning properly. The user receives instant test results as well as advice on how to correct any potential fault. When the user has completed the test, a report is displayed on the PDA screen as well as any actual defect codes. The dealer can then register the defect category and serial number of the unit upon returning it to GN.
